First Day Back!

And I am doing good. I forgot my *crackers, which means no morning snack, but I'm good. I even made it down to the gym for a spin class. Actually I can't take all the motivational credit on that one... **Tim dragged me down to the gym. I am glad I went. I am glad I went with him, because I wouldn't have followed through if he hadn't challenged me. Today is Tuesday. Tuesday means Kerry is teaching and although I hate spin. I love Kerry, but Kerry wasn't here (or there) today. ***Ron was there. I tried to run in the other direction (on the treadmill of course), but Tim caught me and threw me on the bike. 45 minutes later and I am bored, his music is NOT spin worthy, but sweaty.

I feel good about myself and making it back to the gym... it did spark the gym-fiend inside of me and I can't wait for my next work out... which is a great segue into, tonight is my FIRST at home Nike Fit Club workout. Thanks to my new iPhone.

Look how fancy it looks.
This is a screen shot of tonight's work out.

Its an app I have used before, but lost because my old phone wasn't up to date enough to run the updated app. Any who... I have decided that every night after work I am going to take 60minutes for me, before I fall into the housewife roll of ****making dinner and prepping lunches. 60minutes will give me 30 minutes of weights and 30 minutes of relaxing... stretching, showering, lounging etc.

I think it is a great way to work on my muscle tone and keep my sanity.

Tonight should be interesting too... I will be home later than normal tonight. I have a Doctors appointment this afternoon. A he-needs-to-see-you-ASAP kind of doctors appointment. I am a little nervous, but at least we can a reason for all that ails me and hopefully it is something easy to fix. Cross your fingers for me... this thing in my neck is growing quickly and I want it resolved.

Ok... I am also in charge this week at work so I am a little overwhelmed with everything.

That being said... I have to run.

Love!

It's time

It is January 1st. I have decided its a 'free day'; my last day to enjoy everything I love and will miss for the next 6 months, because it is 6 months till the wedding... so I have 6 months to lose 25lbs and become the healthiest I have ever been.

My Free Day is the final binge before the purge... I am eating what I want in mass quantities. Its not healthy or helpful, but its my resolution and I want to do it this way - lol.

This afternoon I am going to go through the house and rid it of EVERYTHING unhealthy... candy, cookies, crackers, chips, flakys, granola bars... everything. I am going to put it all in a box and move it to the basement. This year Richard has decided to do the 'healthy' thing with me (which is awesome) but I am still questioning his commitment, so I don't want to throw everything out. He knows to put it somewhere safe, accessible and unknown by me.

As of tomorrow I am no longer consuming dairy. I am also giving up fast food and making a commitment to eat at home 6 days a week. Richard and I tend to eat out a lot, although I make healthy choices, its not good for us OR the budget. My serious (and medically supervised) starts February 1st. I have my appointment with my naturopath January 26th and I am going to ask to do the same detox from last year... I think the stress of the wedding will be easier to handle with my health in order.

Ok... I am just rambling and I need to get to the eating... I only have a few hours left.

Love!

PS - What's your resolution???

What I plan to do (and not do) in 2012.

This is my list of resolution-ish stuff.

I plan to...
-Get married!
-Run 3 times a week
-Detox (for at least 6weeks)
-Make a baby *fingers crossed*
-Lose 15lbs
-Spend more time with my Dad
-Eat Healthy
-Go to Hot Yoga weekly
-Mend broken relationships
-Start drinking protein shakes every morning (and getting Richard to do this as well)
-Clear out ALL the junk from my cupboards
-Do the walk for the cure
-Paint my living room
-Finish my backyard
-Get my dental implant
-Cook 6 dinners a week (every week)

I plan not to...
-Eat ANY fast food
-Go on Facebook for the entire month of February.
-Fight with family (in-laws included)
-Eat chocolate for the month of January
-Make excuses
-Be fat at my wedding
-Bite my nails
-Gossip
-Include hurtful people in my life.

I am going to attempt to make this a permanent list on my blog to remind me EVERYday of the goals I want to accomplish. I want 2012 to be a year full of success and happiness. I want to give up all the nasty habits I hate about myself. I want to find that inner peace my yogi talks about and I want to fill my life with love and understanding. I know that sounds very 'granola' but its honest. I will keep the list on my blog and update everything I do (and don't do) this year. Hopefully my list for 2013 will have a completely different range of goals, I hate having the same goal every year unless it is achieved... 2010 lose 25 pounds (done!) 2011 lose 25 pounds (done!), those goals I don't mind.

So there it is... I am hating myself right now and will up until January 1st. I always throw the rules out the window over the holidays, granted this year I kept up with everything right up until this week, which shows I am maturing (go me). I feel bloated and uncomfortable. I skipped my run yesterday and had candy for breakfast... yum and ew.

Alright... no gym again today, but if the weather holds I might go to for a run, to dinner with Dave and Cassy. Plans change. Oops.

I'm not sick!

YAY! I am finally not sick and actually starting to feel the benefits of this detox.

I feel great. That's it. I have no complaints, other than the mass amounts of work I have to do today.

The only known upset is the fear I am feeling about doing this alone and not being accountable to anyone anymore... based on my benefits package my next visit with Nicole will be my last until the next calendar when I have a new account to empty.

Wish my luck... I am 5 pounds away from my 20-10 resolutions and honestly I never thought I would get there. I am also 5 pounds away from going wedding dress shopping *girly squeal*.

I will keep at it and see what happens... who knows by the ends of next week I could do it.

I am hoping to get to step today... its always a calorie burner and I hope work allows me to go.

Woo!
I have to run!

Love!

February is my month of WILL POWER!

I have decided to use the shortest month of the year to give up a few things that have TOO much control over my being.

On my list is things to give up...

Dairy
Alcohol
Facebook

There is no connection, don't search for one.

Dairy

I have heard (rumored and otherwise) that our bodies are not designed to digest dairy. As a child we gain nutrients from our mothers milk, but into adult life dairy has a nasty effect on our systems. Yes, we're told we NEED dairy, but coming from the advertising world... we believe that because the milk producers of the world are good advertisers - nothing more.

I have also heard from various friends that they have intolerance's to milk and have felt better since going off dairy. This is a personal choice for me... AND it's only a month, a very short 28 day month.

I am not a big consumer of milk alone, but I do LOVE cheese, finding unique ways to include it in EVERY meal, snack and desire. I eat yogurt, but barely and I crave ice cream, but am willing to give it up for fruit smoothie (I love booster juice) with no yogurt.

The BIG one that I realized only hours before the deprivation began was chocolate. How could I turn my back on Chocolate???? The way it melts in your mouth and makes you forget all your troubles. The way it cascades over every taste bud easing any stress, but alas my stubborn mind was made up and chocolate was also cut from my diet.

Some interesting MILK info... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2241955/why_you_should_give_up_milk_dairy_now.html

Let's give it a moment of silence.

......

Moving on...

Alcohol

I don't know how realistic this is... the only thing I love more than chocolate is WINE! Mmmm... yummy Pinot Grigio, Riesling and Chardonnay, but alas it is another bad habit that is pointless and detrimental to my over all health.

I don't need to drink to be happy or to be the life of the party... so off it goes.

Although we are house sitting this month... 2 weeks. We always have a house party!! I will now be the sober one worrying a little too much about the drunk people.

Besides... think of the money I will save :)

Facebook

I have become obsessed. I wake up and check facebook, before I go to sleep I check facebook. I update my status for every moment of the day and basis my self worth on who comments on my page. Its sad and pathetic.

I need to give it up, go back to phone calls and face to face. If I don't see or hear from you in February... it makes writing my wedding guest list a WHOLE lot easier!

It was just time to prove to myself... I don't need Facebook.

WISH ME LUCK!

Hopefully these changes lower my weight and increase my wallet.

I will keep you posted!

Be afraid of Cardio Kerry

Spinning: 45minutes
Calories: 670

Woah! Kerry killed it today with cardio... I always love her spinning class, but today she dropped the strength training and went straight for the endless sprints and elevated heart rate.

My body is aching ALL over... it feels SO good.

Tonight is WEEK TWO of '100 push-ups'. I am already sore, but looking forward to the challenge.

The Resolutionists are fading... yay!! And I am once again on the elite 15... woo!

I am a wealth of information today... check out the link.

Pounds to Lose: 17

Monday, January 24, 2011

It's Monday!!

Eliptical: 15 minutes
Running: 25 minutes
Abs: 10minutes
Calories: 677

Yes, I did a lot today, but that was only because the resolutionists were bunging up the machines.

I had a terrible weekend. It was stressful and I passed the time by baking. I made the biggest, baddest, chocolatest cookies EVER!! They were amazing... in fact, they still are amazing, but I am not allowed to consume them until the weekend. I am VERY strict during the week... I let it ALL hang out on the weekend.

That's a little dramatic... on the weekends I don't drink nearly enough water, I don't work-out and I don't track calories. I am still cautious of what I eat and when. I still attempt to drink water. I get caught up on my sleep and prepare for my week of discipline.

It works for me.

And the cookies were amazing... silly boys for getting me all worked up.

I am always up on Monday's, but I will be back down on Tuesday.

I have made a NEW pack... I will NOT dress shop (wedding dress) until I lose the full 25 pounds. I have about 18 to go. I think that is fair, besides I work better with deadlines and what better deadline than walking down the aisle with hundreds (yes, hundreds) of people watching you. I don't want to be a fat bride, that can't have the dress of her dreams because it doesn't fit.

That's it... no funny pictures today... WAIT... my gift to you... here is Richard playing Call of Duty with his friends... hehe!
He really is this cute... :)

Pounds to Lose: 17

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Hello 2011!

Spinning: 45minutes
Calories: 720

Ok, as promised I am returning FULL force in the NEW YEAR... much like every resolutionist. Although I did manage to KEEP my resolution for the better part of the year so GO ME!

I did a WEIGH IN on Monday January 3rd... I am 219 pounds. Ew. I missed my mark of 200 by the end of the year. I am ok. I still lost 25 pounds and probably more, given my weigh in was after a night of drinking and eating for the New Year.

So I am making the SAME resolution... to lose weight and get healthy. This year I am hoping to lose 19 pounds by April 8th and another 15 by the end of the year. I think this is fair... Day One I am doing great... I am down .4 pounds and eating a healthy lunch.

I went to spinning as usual... I am not changing my work-out regime, just tightening up my diet.

Wish me luck.

I have 17 months and 27 days to do this... because I will be a size 9 for my wedding day January 1st 2012.

Happy New Year!

Check back for progress!

Love!

New Resolution 20-11!!

Yup! It's that time.

First... I am not giving up on 2010. I just know my limits. I am going to continue at the gym and try my best to maintain (and lose) for the remaining weeks of this year...

...BUT I am ready to set my goal for 2011. I am happy with my loss even though I wish it was more. 35 pounds is worth celebrating. Even with TWO vacations and an engagement I still managed to loose 35 pounds and keep it off... that is a success!

As for 20-11... I am hoping to do it ALL over again.

My goal for 2011 is to loose another 35 pounds. I have less hurdles this year... there will be NO vacations, NO excuses and NO reason I can't walk down the aisle in a size 9.

I am NOT going to weigh for the remainder of the year. I am going to hope I loose another couple pounds, but I'm not going to be upset if I don't.

I will start the New Year fresh and ready to go hard! I am considering some help too. I can exercise... we all know I love the gym and I LOVE working up a good sweat. What I need to work on is nutrition. I am hoping to join a program that will teach me how to eat healthy and be full. That way I make a lifestyle change not just maintain a diet.

I have 3 weeks left to enjoy...

Love!
